I grew up in an inn in Vermont and this is the ice cream scoop my
parents used when serving up Wilcox Dairy's amazing chocolate and
vanilla ice cream from 5 gallon tubs for dessert!
It is a piece of art in itself with wood brass and copper parts.
I have listed this little 4"x 5" oil painting in my Etsy store at:

Original Small Oil Painting 4"x 5"
It has been a very long time since I have had a Mary Jane! I had no intentions of eating one but I just had to find out if they taste the same as they did when I was little. Yes. Yes they do!
This would be a one-of-a-kind gift for a lover of nostalgic candy!

I took a short break after participating in the 30 in 30 Paint Challenge to catch up on things that I had to ignore for a month. It feels so good to be painting again!
I sold vintage items on ebay for several years and have leftover inventory to select my still-lifes from. This is one of those brass tubes that has the little button that slides the lipstick up and down. The mirror and hankie were also vintage finds.
I have a vignette planned out that I will paint in a larger format that includes other girly items!

Day 30 of the 30 in 30 Daily Paint Challenge!
Time to "Celebrate!" This is the last day of the challenge and although it ended up being a 20 in 30 for me, I am so glad that I participated! There were days that I was unable to paint for one reason or another but it was so great to have this push to get me back into painting.
If you or someone you knows loves to paint, the next 30 in 30 Challenge will be September, 2018.
You can view the paintings of all of the participating artists at https://www.saetastudio.com/february-30-in-30-blog. You will need to hover over the "30 in 30" tab and then click on "February 30 in 30 Blog" in the drop-down box.

Day 29 of the 30 in 30 Paint Challenge
Copper Bowl with Pennies
Copper is really interesting and fun to paint with all of its reflections and color variations! It is old and has a bit of verdigris along the inside edge, adding to its character.
I
joined a "Thirty Paintings in 30 Days" challenge for the month of
February, ending March 2nd 2018. I will be adding more of my paintings
daily.
I
will be using mostly vintage and antique objects in my still lifes.
Interiors, landscapes and food are some of my favorite subjects so I
will be painting some of them as well.
